MMC is a term used mostly in the UK to refer to “smart” or “industrial” construction and includes techniques such as component and process standardisation, prefabrication, pre-assembly, modular building and additive manufacture.
Skellet

Skellet is a modular steel frame building system that allows for fast and efficient construction.
The system consists of a cross-box steel profile with recessed surfaces perforated with holes 25mm apart creating a grid which allows stable construction.
A range of connectors are available and all joints are either bolted or riveted. This means that the Skillet frame can be dismantled down to the smallest component, which can then be reused in another project.
Etex EOS Thrubuild

The system consists of a light steel frame which is assembled and paneled in the EOS factory before being delivered to the site.
This illustration shows some of the features commonly found in modern modular homes.

Solar panels on the roof charge the storage battery.

Electric vehicle (EV) charging point.

Wall panels incorporate insulation and fire protection.

Power cables throughout the wall panels allow sockets to be easily installed as needed.

Smartphone app control and monitoring.

Modular construction allows the later addition of extensions relatively easily.
