This illustration shows a fully automatic bulk loading station for high speed filling of dry, dusty materials into enclosed vehicles. The equipment is manufactured by Dust Control and Loading Systems Inc of Michigan.

Vehicles enter the site using a ticket station outside the gate.

A raised platform allows the top loading hatch to be opened. If the vehicle is fitted with DCL’s Autohatch this is done automatically.

The vehicle drives onto a weighbridge and enters the silo. The loading station is enclosed so that the SmartLoader Vision System can scan the top of the vehicle to detect an open hatch (usually the middle one). A traffic light signals the driver to stop.
Positioning equipment fine tunes the precise placement of the retractable spout. Ventilation, filter and collector modules capture the dust. This can include fine, granular, lumpy, abrasive and corrosive materials.

When the desired quantity of product (by weight) has been loaded the vehicle leaves the site using a second ticket station.
