Swept-hilt Rapier
A Spanish swept-hilt-rapier, mid XVI Century, signed “DAMIANVS DE NERVE ME FECIT”.
Iron hilt, with damascene work in gold and silver, depicting scenes of Greek mythology, battles, hunting scenes and Vitruvian scrolls.
No biographical information about Damianus de Nerve has been recorded, and this is the only example of his work known to exist.
